History

1960 till Now

In 1960 the Zecchetti family started building equipment for can manufacturing. Starting with only 5 employees Zecchetti began a long history of innovation and growth. During the 60’s and 70’s as their product range expanded the Company grew to 20 employees. In their development Zecchetti supplied a variety of packaging systems to the packaging industry in general, with no particular area of focus.

However, in the early 80’s the first PVC containers appeared followed by PET containers. Zecchetti recognized the challenge these new containers represented to the packaging industry and focused their experience to face empty bottle conveying and palletizing problems head on. Zecchetti began this effort with annual sales of around 3 Millions Euro. Thanks to their focused effort and foresight, 10 years later Zecchetti was recognized (and still is) as the 1st manufacturer/supplier of equipment for the empty PET bottle handling in the world. Over this ten-year period annual sales grew to approximately 6.5 Million Euros.

In the early 90’s, thanks to Zecchetti’s skill and experience in empty container handling along with adding experts in GLASS Bottle handling, Zecchetti accepted another challenge and entered the Glass Bottle Manufacturing Industry. This new direction has been another successful undertaking and after less than 10 years, Zecchetti has become one of the top players in the Glass Bottle arena. They are supplying Cold End bottle handling equipment, (from Lehr discharge to full pallet storage) to all the major Glass Factories worldwide.

The last challenge now is for Zecchetti, one of the biggest players for downstream lines, to further increase its activity by adding to the above mentioned equipment the Automated Warehousing Systems. Today as a result of innovation and growth, Zecchetti’s annual turnover is 50 Million Euros approx with a total of 110 employees.

With the onset of an expansion into the United States via Zecchetti USA, the Zecchetti group has furthered their efforts to meet the demands of their customers in North America and the rest of the world. Zecchetti USA now serves to augment the powerhouse based in Italy and extend the reach of customer service to new distances at a rate the modern world requires.
